The Radość-Joy Song and Dance group was founded in 1992 by Ania Piwowarczyk. Radość-Joy, this year celebrated their 25th anniversary. The dance ensemble consists of over 125 members, in 4 age groups, ranging in age from 4 to 27+. The group’s repertoire is wide ranging, authentic and stylized Polish folklore, international and modern. The costumes are richly decorated, and specifically designed to compliment each number. This is especially evident in RJ’s “signature” number “Gypsy Nights”. The Senior Group, a member of CIOFF, was chosen to represent both Canada and Poland at folklore festivals in Taiwan and Colombia. RJ is a regular performer at Carrassauga, at community banquets, festivals, as well as at senior homes.
